installingt 6.2 from dvd

i have 6.1 installed on my ps3 now i want to install 6.2 will i need to reformat the hard drive on my ps3 or can i just overwrite 6.1 coz when i installed 6.1 i tiked the box for advanced yellow dog account which i shouldnt have done coz i cant install anything i just keep getting 404 errors all replies greatly appreciated cheers

You can overwrite 6.1.
