Installation?

Hey, Is it normal after hitting next to go on with the install, the screen goes black and can't see what is going on. Last thing I saw when clicking next was, this could take some time and the screen just goes black and that's it. It has been black over 15 mins and I did not select any extra packages. Do I have a bag img or did I screw something up along the way? Bare with me it's my first post. 1080p and 60 gig ps3.

I've now tried to install in 480i just so I can see whats happening and I see: install exited abnormally [1/1] sending termination signals done... ending kill signals... done disabling swap.... /tmp/ps3da3 unmounting filesystems.... /?mt/runtime done disabling/dev/loop0 and many more. finally it says :you may safely reboot your system.

Any ideas what's wrong?

bad dvd burn. re-burned using different software seemed to do the trick...
