Hi,

I just installed yld 6.2 on my iBook G4 without any issues. After some "test-days" I decided to install yld on my iMac G5 1.9 GHz PowerPc too. Unfortunately it doesn't work. I boot from the same CD as for the iBook but after several seconds my desktop is freezing.
I hope that somone could help me. I'm thankful for every possible solution!

I haven't installed YDL on an iMac G5 but I have on a PowerMac G5. Where exactly is it freezing for you? Do you get as far as the yaboot menu to select the install options or as far as Anaconda? Perhaps try the text based install to see what happens.

Similar problem here: iMac G5 starts installation of YDL 6.2 and freezes without any real error after:

Same issue when booting install-text

Same DVD worked on my PowerBook G4
