iso problem

i am using image burn to create my iso... but i need serious clarification on the process.... i downloaded: yellowdog-6.2-ppc-DVD_20090629.... it came packaged with winrar, after un-compressing it there is a collection of 14 directories and files.... how do i (using iamgeburn) torn that into an iso?

i have seen people say "use image burn to create your iso, and i have made iso's in the past (from single iso files not this collection of frustration i have spent HOURS downloading several times).... nowhere have i found explicit directions on turning this: yellowdog-6.2-ppc-DVD_20090629 into this: yellowdog-6.2-ppc-DVD_20090629.iso

forgive me for being ignorant... but i am about at the tear my hair out stage.

Not sure where you're downloading from, but it doesn't sound like the correct file.

As far as I know these are the ONLY official sources (note that some are no longer active):

http://ydl.net/support/downloads/

For example, here's one that works:
http://ydl.oregonstate.edu/iso/

And you don't "create your iso" -- it's already created you just download it and burn the image to a DVD. ImageBurn (http://www.imgburn.com) is good for this since it provides an option to verify after burning.

The filename is correct, so as long as you're downloading from one of the sources I mentioned above you should be OK.

Also, you can verify the file after download using a program called sha1sum. Usage is described in the PS3 Subforum's README here (near the bottom under * Solving problems with burning the Install DVD and installation errors):

viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2274

And of course your PS3's firmware must be 3.15 or earlier to have the OtherOS option.
