Firefox installation.

I can't install firefox.

I tried a install from www.mozilla.org,
but it won't work.

try firefox from here:
http://ftp.freshrpms.net/pub/freshrpms/yellowdog/3.0/

or get the source code and compile yourself.
but this rpm should work fine.

Firefox installed perfectly for me using yum and freshrpms.

I'm totally lost when it comes to installs rpm's or otherwise, so I rely on yum to do it all:D

Hello,

I downloaded and installed firefox from the web site recommended in this thread, and I got it running with rpm -i. However, it requires a later version of Java than I have. I have 1.3.X, and it requires 1.4.X. However, I haven't been able to find a ppc version of that version of Java. The Sun website only has it for i586 and there's no source to compile from.

So--does anyone know where I can find the right Java?

Try to find java 1.4.1 from IBM.
