startmol fails

If you are new to YDL and have some more or less basic questions.

startmol fails

Postby Mad Scientist » 09 Jul 2004, 16:12

I tried startmol, but it just brings up this:
Code: Select all
Mac-on-Linux 0.9.69 Copyright (C) 1997-2003 Samuel Rydh
Starting MOL session 0
====================================================================
  No mol-0.9.69 kernel modules corresponding to the running
  2.4.22-2f kernel were found ('startmol --list' displays
  installed version). Recompile the mol kernel modules (recommended)
  or try starting MOL as root using the '-a' switch. The '-a'
  flag can be made default by the 'allow_kver_mismatch: yes' setting.
====================================================================

what is wrong?

Dr. Clint posted an excellent FAQ written by our resident YDL sawbones,
Dr. David Hacker, on this very subject. You can check it out here:

Thanks to mascarasnake for the info

hi,

started out with the same problem.
followed the instructions and took parts the user guide on
http://www.maconlinux.org/

after few changes startmol -X worked and I got my full screen OSX.

Basically I did the testing and supplied the boot partition in the config.
The page walks you through really nice.

So have fun.
