having a fresh 301 install and being interested too, I followed the link you posted and i found something you may want to give a try :
https://player.helixcommunity.org/2004/downloads/
Perhaps I too missed some point...
- Code: Select all
[wappen@sirius ~/temp]$ sudo rpm -ivh HelixPlayer-1.0.0.298-20040730.ppc.rpm
Password:
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
package HelixPlayer-1.0.0.298-20040730 is intended for a i586 architecture
[wappen@sirius ~/temp]$
Hmmm that's it :
Helix wrote:Known Issues * Helix Player on Linux PPC RPM requires --ignorearch flag to install (issue #2569)
now that's better
- Code: Select all
[wappen@sirius ~/temp]$ sudo rpm -ivh --ignorearch HelixPlayer-1.0.0.298-20040730.ppc.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:HelixPlayer ########################################### [100%]
[wappen@sirius ~/temp]$
Then you'll find the player in your KDE Menu under "Sound & videos > More sound and videos apps" (or something similar, mine is in french so i don't know exactly...)
Edit :
Helix player doesn't play Real content, so you'll probably want this package :
