New to YDL and Linux in general

I'm very new to Linux, I spend most of my time breaking stuff and then trying to fix it. I have a server at Server Beach running Fedora, I use PuTTY on a windows box to SSH into it. Is there a tool like that for YDL, or OS X? I would prefer a YDL solution, I'm using a G3 iBook and it's very slow running OS X.

ssh, is a default cli command in linux; all you have to do is open up a terminal and type ssh "target" and login. It will also work for OSX, just go to utilities and pull up the terminal
