File Browser Question

File Browser Question

Postby nevaeh » 20 Aug 2008, 06:19

I'm using YDL 6.0 with the Enlightment E17 gui. It uses the Nautilus file browser, which is fine, but everytime you click open a new folder, it opens a new window....The second is found under system tools, and called "File Browser", which opens every folder in the same window...Any way to default to this? Or at least create a shortcut in my launch bar?

Nautilus uses single window mode for me ran as:
Code: Select all
nautilus --no-desktop --browser

I don't use E17 myself, but you should be able to add an application button to the shelf that runs that command line.

I've created a script that will start the Nautilus browser, your help was genious. Now I ask for one more thing, I can't seem to figure out how to add a shortcut to the shelf. I've tried a simple drag and drop, but It won't add it. Anything special I have to do?

Edit: Nevermind, I've figured it out, although it was a somewhat round 'about way of doing it. I created a new application for the shelf, selected a pre-made one, and then just edited it to point to my script file, and it works perfectly!

W00t! Glad it's working, and thanks for pointing out what you did.

Also - if you use the middle mouse button - or hold down the shift key when you left click - opening a new folder will keep it in the same window. :)
