I purchaser a old ibook (g3 12'' 700mhz) and use yellowdog as unique OS.
But, INS and CANC keys...
I cannot find it in the keyboard.
That is a good question!
There is '
xmodmap' that should be already installed in your system but this one is CLUI only... Its meant to modify keymaps. Using this utility will allow you to assign these two keys to some other keys on your keyboard. I found it no-quite-easy-to-use but there is '
xkeycaps' (
http://www.jwz.org/xkeycaps/) Its the GUI equivalent. Its old but usefull.
Installation is, sorry about that, not like in, say, MacOS or Windowz but I just did it and it really aint bad at all..
You HAVE to use a terminal, Simply follow these instructions:
1- Download '
xkeycaps-2.46.tar.Z' from the URL mentioned above.
2- Expand the archive:
]$ tar zxpvf xkeycaps-2.46.tar.Z [ENTER]
3- Build the application:
]$ cd xkeycaps-2.46; xmkmf; make; su --c 'make install' [ENTER]
4- run the app:
]$ xkeycaps
.. and I sure hope this set you go
