help with yum commmand

Postby y0g1121 » 20 Dec 2008, 16:28

OK, so I am new to Linux and I am proud to say that I have installed YellowDog Linux on my PS3. Evey thing looks great but I am having trouble with wine installation and running. Also my yum commands are coming up with configure problems. I need help. Here is a command line problem with the attempted installation of wine.

[y0g1121@localhost ~]$ yum install wine
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Config Error: Error accessing file for config file://///etc/yum.repos.d/yellowdog-updates.repo
[y0g1121@localhost ~]$

Thank you

WINE is not going to work. It requires the use of an x86 CPU and the PS3's Cell B.E. has a PowerPC-based core.

Also, yum must be run as the "root" user for it to work. Please see the "How to Install Software" guide for YDL 6 under the PS3 subforum if you haven't done so already.
