If you are new to YDL and have some more or less basic questions.

Root login

Postby steve » 31 Dec 2008, 14:22

Hi,
I've installed YDL 6.1 on my PS3 three times now, every time I try to login at the local host prompt with root it will except this and go to password, then I' am unable to type anything, nothing on the keyboard works.

I am very new at this and all I could think of is could I have a corrupt copy of YDL.

Thanks for any help.
Steve

You are able to type, it just doesn't show what you're typing while entering the password.

After you key your username, your password will show as asterisks ( *) to protect the password as it is being typed. After typing the password you chose and hitting enter, the machine should automatically progress with the rest of the YDL boot process.

If you are encountering a keyboard lockup after typing username, you may have some device conflict going on somehow.

Actually I don't believe it echoes anything at all when you're entering your root password in text mode on that screen.
