Annoying root and password login - can i disable that?

Hello guys,
Ive spent about seven hours installing linux on my ps3. But then i finally did i i was really happy. But now i have a question- how to get rid of the login in the boot up of the linux? I mean when you have to write root as a username and your password, then Xautoconfig and enter and then startx and enter. On youtube i saw ppl having like GUI over there but i dont... Could you just give me some link over here I dont mean to make any trouble. Thank you.

I guess you installed on an SDTV? Anyway, this should help:

After you get the GUI working, you'll want to create a normal user for yourself. You should not use root for day-to-day computing - only for system administration.

The reason you do this is to protect yourself from account hijacking.
