I AM TRYING TO PUT YD 6.1 ON MY PS3 40 G.I GOT THE YD 6.1 FROM A FRIEND AND FORMATTED THE HD ON THE PS3 AFTER I INSTALLED THEN WENT 2 SYSTEM / SYSTEM SETTINGS / DEFAULT SYSTEM/ OTHER OS AND YD 6.1 gets 2 KBOOT AND THEN IT WONT START COULD SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME

Sounds like you haven't actually installed it yet -- just the bootloader (this installs when you have the YDL 6.1 DVD in the drive and you "Install OtherOS" from the XMB menu).

Now if you're getting to the kboot prompt (with the YDL 6.1 DVD in the drive) and pressing the TAB key doesn't cycle through the install options, you may have a problem with your DVD.
