I'm obviously a beginnner. Looks like I made a typo, and now I get the above error.
How do I fix this. Assume I know nothing, you'll be close to the truth.

Yes, I'm guessing you had a typo when using the echo command to add "protect=1" to the yellowdog-base.repo file and it ended up creating a new file with just "protect=1" in it under a different name. Delete that file and you should be OK.

Thanks, it seems to be working now.

Is there a recommended "route" to learning ydl 6.1? Is there a book or course? Or a manual? Where do you suggest I begin? I have no experience with Linux.
