controller question

Nobody seems to post ps3 threads in ps3, I see a lot in this section, so here we go, maybe it'll get more attention here...

I installed yellow dog 6.1 on my ps3 and installed xe onto it for my emulation software. I can't seem to get the ps3 to recognize the ps3 controllers in linux. It did once, i forget if it was connected to the usb or not, but i set the config for the controls in xe and forgot to throw my roms on there so I had to restart. Since then, no matter what I do I can't get it to pickup my controllers. I've also installed the controller plugin from the ps3bodega repository as told to do so. Please help, the controller issue is my final hurdle. THANKS!

edit: managed to somehow get one of them working again wireless...configured the controls, but start and select work but the other buttons seem to act like they're pressing themselves...
