YDL Resolution Question

Postby Pure_Khaos » 12 May 2009, 23:21

Hello, Im looking to install YDL 6.1 On my PS3. It says that I need an LCD or Plasma HD TV through HDMI or Component. My TV is not "truly" HD. It is a rear projection TV running at a maximum of 480i, However, it is connected through Component, Would this meet the requirements to run any version of YDL? Thank you for your help

Edit: Also, for some reason neither of the american mirrors are working for me,
"The webpage at http://ydl.oregonstate.edu/iso/yellowdo ... 081119.iso might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address."
However, it has been saying this for about a week or so, I wouldnt have any issue downloading it from the "KDD Labs" in Japan server would I? I would think it is the same file.
This is the error message
"Error 8 (net::ERR_FILE_TOO_BIG): Unknown error."

See page 7 of the install guide:

Just use install_text or install_ps3_480i at the kboot prompt when you're starting the install.

That link seems to be working fine here. Regardless of where you download the file, you should check the sha1sum to make sure it's OK before burning your install DVD. See instructions in the README post in the Playstation 3 forum here:

Before you get into this, know that the resolution you'll be running at is going to make some things unpleasant to work with. For windows that are too large to fit your screen, you can hold down the Alt key then left click/drag the window to adjust your view.
