Changing Resolution(s)

Changing Resolution(s)

Postby MasamuneSoul » 17 Jul 2009, 01:08

Ok, awhile back I installed YDL 6.1 on PS3. I did the 720p install w/ component cables (which was an success) but now just upgraded to an HDMI cable and now my automatic/default resolution in the PS3's Display Settings is 1080i.

So yeah, here's the question:

If I boot into YDL, will it automatically change to 1080i or do I have to configure something to change it or is there really any difference?

Thanks for any help.

Nope - it will still be 720p. You will have to edit your /etc/yaboot.conf to change resolution to 1080i.

However - most folks leave it at 720p, since the 1080i text is too small to read.

You could make a multiple yaboot.conf and have both available. I detail how to do that here:

Since I posted that, I have tried it. It works exactly as advertised.
