system requirements ?

If you are new to YDL and have some more or less basic questions.

system requirements ?

currently im using ubuntu 9.04 and was really hoping to run yellow dog but i dont want to download it yet if my computer cant support it
I have a

733mhz processor
386 mb of Ram
256 mb nvidia geforce 6600
1 80gb hard drive and 1 15gb hard drive

would my computer support it ?

i couldnt find any documentation on hard ware requirements only computer and electronic specific.
and i know i have a dinosaur computer its from the ages when microsoft ME was the current ms OS heh i need to update
any help or suggestions ?

Nope - sorry. Yellow Dog Linux won't run on Intel architecture processors like the one you quoted. YDL is for PowerPC-processor based computers only.

This would include Power Macintoshes (G4 & G5), PlayStation 3s, IBM BladeCenters and other assorted PowerPC hardware.

Well - no - but that's the main thing.

YDL isn't going to like your motherboard, your BIOS, your I/O structure, your hard disc interface, etc. either. It's designed around a specific Apple/IBM joint motherboard specification for PowerPC architecture that all of these computers I listed in the post above share.

Which PS3 do you have? If you have one of the "slim" PS3s, you can't run it on that one either. :(

Otherwise, be sure to take a peek at the installation instructions here:

The PS3 installation isn't too hard - but it's different from most other computers.
