AT&T U-Verse (SOLVED)

Postby astrodaddy » 17 Jan 2010, 08:41

Hi everyone,

My phat 80Gb ps3 is hooked to the internet wirelessly through my AT&T U-Verse router, but I cant seem to figure out how to configure Linux 6.2 to do the same thing on the same machine. I had hoped that the Linux 6.2 install would copy those settings over, but alas it did not.

Can anyone help me how to figure this out?

UPDATE - I finally figured out how to get onto the net wirelessly with Linux!

On the Linux desktop, go to the top and click on the blue ball.

Then go to Applications/Internet/Wicd Network Manager

Now where it asks to "Choose from the networks below" click ON THE NAME of the 100% WPA wireless signal it finds (should be yours unless you configured your router to ignore such requests!) and click on 'Advanced Settings', name might read like 2wire555 or similar.

With AT&T U_Verse, all the codes and passwords you need are located on the bottom of your router, just flip it over, so all you need to do is enter the system password into the Wicd Manager and you should be good to go! Worked like a charm for me!
