unable to receive internet connection with linux 6.2 for the

Hi, can anyone help me! i can't seem to pick up any internet activity with linux. I downloaded linux through one of the mirror links and i managed to download and install successfully but no signal, can anyone help?

NOTE: If you use wicd, you will not need the community patch as described in that post. Wicd on 6.2 came "pre-patched".

Hi Paul, not sure what you mean, (WICD). Im also running a wireless connection, could this be why it isn't picking up a signal. I know i must sound like a complete amatuer, but could you send me a brief step by step guide.

Wicd is the new wireless manager introduced in YDL 6.1 & 6.2. wicd in 6.1 had a bug that required a community supplied script - the bug was fixed in 6.2, so you don't have to patch wicd for 6.2.

Scenario 3 in the link I supplied above is a step by step guide.
