Ps3 160gb model cant install past kboot

Im not sure if its me or what im downloading an not unzipping right! I get my ydl from the oregon state site an once i unzip the download i end up with files inside the files that are not unzipped an some that have nothing in them! Yet i can use imagine burn an make a file disc cause i cant ever find the image to make thru imageburn but it will install the kboot then thats all it does! I cant select the tv mode or get past that! I have downloaded the version 6.1 both regular an the new one an now downloading the 6.2 to try that out! Anyone that understands what im tryin to say please help! thanks (by the way im aware of the issue with the 80gb an mine the 160bg but my serial number ends with cechp01)

Stop right there.

ISOs are not ZIP files. You don't open them.

Instead, you need to use imageburn to "create" the disc directly from the ISO.

So - you download this file:
http://ydl.oregonstate.edu/iso/yellowdo ... 090629.iso

Save it directly to your disc. Do NOT open it up.

Then, run SHA1SUM on the ISO you downloaded, and verify that you get this value:

You need to do this to verify that you downloaded the ISO correctly. If the SHA1SUM doesn't match - you have a bad download.

Finally, follow the IMGBURN procedure here to create a disc directly from the ISO:

ah ha! thats what has been messing me up! i just did what you said an bam the dvd is being made simple as pie! i will update after the dvd is done an gonna do that other thing to verify the download! thanks a million paul
