YDL hosting a AMP environment

Postby zebralips » 28 Nov 2011, 05:17

Is the directory and file structure in YDL any different then any other distro of Linux.
I am looking at installing a AMP environment and this is my first time working with Linux

i did delete the original post.
i did not precede the shell variable with a $ and was not able to receive the values that i was looking for.

Thank you

It shouldn't be - YDL is based on CentOS 5 - which is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (aka RHEL). Instructions for RHEL/CentOS 5 systems generally work on YDL without modification.

That's how I make my updated Firefox/Xulrunner builds, for example - I use the CentOS SRPMS as is and rebuild them for PowerPC YDL.

Cheers,
Paul
