Postby trash » 30 Aug 2004, 05:45

BT was mentioned before on this forum so i figure it is running on ydl, but when i did a google for for 'bittorrent yellowdoglinux' it turned up a couple of links on ftp/ydl. for a debian release, which i just assumed was for developers. yes/no?
Can anybody point me to the right install for ydl?

thanks

If it has a Python, it can run BT - Nothing special needed beyond Python and the BT files. At least for the "pure Python" version that I presume is the "original".

For other platforms (Windows, Mac, whatever) the BT client isn't neccesarily pure Python, so YMMV - on my Mac running 9.1, I've got MacPython installed, and I run BT on top of Python. For Windows, ditto - install a Windows Python, add BT, and go. For *nix with a Python installed, BT should "just work", regardless of which flavor of *nix is in use. (Assuming a compatible Python version, that is)
