hello,

i have b&w g3 running ydl 3.0. i decided that i wanted to install a cdwriter. all went well except that when i ran cdrecord --scanbus, all that shows up is the internal zip drive. the cdrom functions ok as a reader. yes, i did a line to yaboot hde=ide-scsi. any helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

what window manager are u running; in KDE you can either go to the "start" menu, system settings, then hardware browser, info control or you can pull up the control panel and go through the tabs there. Try to find you cdrw drive and if its not there then the kernel isnt seeing it.
