what linux distro should i get for this mac?

its an apple imac g4 700mhz powerpc and 512 mbs of ram
right now it has 10.2.8 panther and I don't want to spend lot's of money for the new os from apple, so I'm looking at linux for a free distro that can run with low specs.

I want a distro that can have like firefox and full java with sound and all, mainly for the game runescape I play, low system requirements for no lag in game

also the mac has a dvd/cd rw in it along with 40 gig hard drive

oo and most importantly I have no way of burning a dvd so is there someway I can install from a cd?

YDL is available on CDs now.
Installing java is trivial now (both 1.5 and 1.6 ).
Except don't get your hopes up in terms of java and speedy performance.
Seems like you have enough space for a comfy dual boot machine, but you will need to repartition the drive and on 10.2.8 it's a destructive process so back up whatever you need first.
