VLC or Mplayer *without* intenet on YDL ?

Postby alpahc » 07 Mar 2008, 14:52

Hello, I'm new to YDL and wanted to know if there is a way of installing a media player without having the internet installed on YDL PS3 (can't achieve that since I'm using wifi with unsupported WPA PSK) , by downloading it from my laptop and copying it to my USB drive for instance?
Thanks in advance

hello... i dont think you have to copy the programs to a usb/flash drive, you can activate you WIFI even with WPA-PSK...
I found this guide:
http://dachaac.blogspot.com/2007/08/gui ... 3-ydl.html
it works with 5.0.2 and 6.0, it explains how to configure your wireless connection...
*note* you have to "--force" install wireless-tools-28-1.ppc64.rpm even if it says that there is a newer version installed.
just follow the guide step for step and if you are using ydl 6.0 be sure to read the comments
