e17 themes

can't get the e17 themes to work..... i can get them to show up in the theme selector but when i apply them the screen goes blank and then comes back up with the default theme again..... i've put them in the right file (~/.e/e/theme) and all the themes i have used end in .edj ........... so i'm lost.....(noob) oh and i'm on a ps3 if that matters ........ thanks
