gens sega genesis emulator

Got a question, I've suscessfully installed my gens emulator under ydl verson 6 however for the life of me I cannot open the emulator, nor open my rom under GENS. I've installed this application the same way I've installed my SNES, and MAME is there anything else I have to do to get this to work?

I never got Gens to work. Looks in the Playstation 3 subforum here for info on installing XE -- it is a multi-system emulator that works very well for Genesis games on YDL 6. sdlmess also works with a few Genesis games, but many have no sound. XE has a bit of trouble with the sixaxis controller (assuming you're using a PS3) but it's usable (the directions on the d-pad are reversed when you're configuring the controller).
