Can't browse my samba network from YDL

Postby darthpenguin » 07 Jun 2008, 14:31

Hello,

I am an avid Linux user. I have recently installed YDL on my PS3. I have a PC accting as a home file server it is running Ubuntu Hardy and sharing files via SAMBA. I can connect to my shares manualy from YDL by going to "Connect to server" in Gnome. But I cannot browse the network. When I go to Places --> Network Servers I get an empy window and the wait (watch) mouse icon, I wait but it finds nothing. any idea how to get this to work? I'd rather not connect manualy if I don't have to. Thx

I've never gotten browse to work either. I'm not quite sure why - nor do I have time to figure it out right now. (See my number of posts to the left. :))

However - you can use "Connect to server" from the System menu in GNOME. Once you've mounted the server this way - it will stay on your GNOME desktop.

Yeah - it's kinda manual - but it's not command line. That counts for something, right? ;)

Cheers,
Paul
