ydl on ps3 (hard drive)?

ydl on ps3 (hard drive)?

i have an external hard drive 300 gb, can i install ydl 6 on the external hard drive and load it up on the ps3?
it wud be great if u had that

Current thinking is that this scenario isn't supported by default. I'm not saying it's impossible, mind you - but it might take a lot of work.

My guess is that USB support isn't present in the kernel - it loads during boot. This means that you'd have to find another system to build a PS3 kernel containing USB support, then patch the installation to use this, etc., etc., etc.

I did this for a x86_64 laptop once just to get a USB drive with a 64-bit Linux. It's not impossible - but I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon, either. :D
