cant change ydl 6 from 480i to 720p

i recemtly got my lcd tv, hooked up ps3 via component cables, i then tried to change the resolution using this guide, viewtopic.php?t=3524, and i managed to edit the yaboot file, but when i try to edit the xorg file, i cannot find this line,

Modes "1920x1080" "1280x1024" "1280x768" "1280x720" "720x576" "720x480"

instead mine says:

Subsection "display"
Depth 8
fbBpp 32
modes "576x384"
defaultfbBpp 32


any ideas? im lost.

Yeah - just comment out the Modes line you have:

Depth                    8
fbBpp                     32
#modes                    "576x384"
defaultfbBpp           32

And see if that works.
