Is there any .mp4 support? Are there any codecs for the original player? Should I download the VLC media player? Can you tell me where? Thanks..

MP4 support is not included in YDL by default, due to licensing issues. Fedora/RedHat Linux based distributions, like YDL, do not include non-GPL code.

However - that isn't a big drawback. Livna.org was created by Fedora users specifically to handle this type of thing.

You need to follow the steps here: Howto: Install software (the easy way) YDL 6

then add gstreamer-plugins-ugly and gstreamer-plugins-bad
