C++ Problems

Postby ebroo » 17 Mar 2005, 00:43

Hi all, I'm new to YDL - first PPC Linux - I Just installed YDL 4 and then attempted to compile baghira - The inital compile complained about lots of gcc not existing etc - so after lots of package adding - I am to a point of the configure failing with:

checking if C++ programs can be compiled... no
configure: error: Your Installation isn't able to compile simple C++ programs.
Check config.log for details - if you're using a Linux distribution you might miss
a package named similar to libstdc++-dev.

Even though I have libstdc++ and libstdc++-dev installed (as well as the full gcc and gcc-c++)
#rpm -qa | grep c++

libstdc++-3.3.3-16.ydl.4
compat-libstdc++-7.3-2.95.4.4m
libstdc++-devel-3.3.3-16.ydl.4
gcc-c++-3.2.2-2a
gcc-c++-ppc32-3.3.3-16.ydl.4
compat-gcc-c++-7.3-2.95.4.4l

config.log doesn't tell me a specific problem, but does seem to not be able to find things like stddef.h ???

I've expanded ld config and path to include any missing lib or inc paths - but configure still seems to be missing something .

Any thoughts appreciated,

Edward
