Postby sok_linux » 28 May 2010, 14:14

Hello,

Has anyone gotten Dropbox to work with Yellow Dog 6.2?
If so I would very much appreciate some instruction/ advice.

Cheers

or some other way to sync files across computers, Maybe a secured ftp server that I could automatically sync with.

edit* corrected some grammar
There is only one thing you can do, so do it.

I also wonder about this. I'm using Dropbox on Windows, but if I upgrade to Yellow Dog Linux will I be able to use it? Are there any similar solutions that could be used for synchronizing? TIA

It appears that since YDL is based on RHEL/CentOS 5.0, the libraries are too old to let us compile DropBox. DropBox unfortunately assumes a fairly modern Linux distribution.
