Terminal crashes?

Well I recently just installed ydl on another hdd for my ps3, and every time I try to start the terminal, it just crashes and doesn't start up.. But the terminal shell in the KDE environment works..
The only reason I'm posting this is because when ever I have to open an application with the terminal, like a kernel update, the terminal crashes still and it always re directs the open with terminal action to the crashing terminal that I have :(
Oh and on the ydl install, I install all the applications at once, so I'm thinking that that might be the problem? o.O

Is there any way to fix this?

Does it crash if you log in as root as well, or just on your regular user account?

It crashes when I click on it.. It just pops up for a sec, then it's gone :/

This is the error i got in enlightment
Code: Select all
Error Information:
An exit code of 1 was returned from Terminal.

Output Data:
   There was no output

Error Logs:
The program 'Terminal' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
     (Details: serial 871 error_code 8 request_code 72 minor_code 0)
     (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

actually nvm, I updated the kernel to kernel-2.6.29-5.ydl62.bdg.ppc64 with the achieve manager and that fixed the terminal problem.. Thanks anyway!

If I recall correctly, that kernel update -- which I've since taken off the ps3bodega repo -- ran mostly OK but I was having trouble with minitube locking up while using it. If it's the one I'm thinking of, jaybps3 had tried tweaking some settings for performance on that build and I'm guessing that created a problem for whatever reason.

In any case your previous kernel should still be installed and you can switch to it by pressing TAB at the kboot prompt. If you don't experience any problems I wouldn't worry about it, but I normally run the last kernel update from YDL on my system.

Eh, I had a copy of the rpm on my old hdd and I decided to use it, but I had to re install linux again, because that kernal was at a higher revision that the one you offer for zerogame.. But any ways I fixed every thing over the weekend and no problems any more.. woo!!
