Postby ppietro » 01 Nov 2012, 00:16

Hi everyone,

Firefox ESR 10.0.10 has released. billb - I've fixed the SRPMs for YDL PPC, and uploaded them to the usual place.

Cheers,

Hi billb,

There's been a slight update to Firefox 10.0.10. The CentOS mirror has a new Firefox 10.0.10-2 SRPM. I'd use that instead of the 10.0.10-1 SRPM.

Xulrunner was unchanged - both 10.0.10-2 and 10.0.10-1 use the same xulrunner 10.0.10-1 SRPM.

So - in summary you want to build the PowerPC version of Firefox 10.0.10 with firefox-10.0.10-2.src.rpm and xulrunner-10.0.10-1.src.rpm.

I've just built the YDL for CUDA version, and I've copied the YDL specific SRPMs to the usual place. Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers,
Paul

Where is the "usual place"? I referred to PS3Bodega but it doesn't appear to exist anymore.
Has PS3Bodega died or moved? Please let me know, as I've got to modify my yum script.

Thanks.

Hi Derick,

There's no point in running Yum yet - I'm not generating PowerPC builds. Only YDL for CUDA builds (x86_64) of RPMs and SRPMs.

The CentOS SRPMs that I use for Firefox (and the corresponding Xulrunner) won't build on YDL, but they will build on YDL for CUDA. So - I tweak them around and then upload them to a private server where billb rebuilds the PowerPC version for YDL and uploads them to ps3bodega.

If you'd like the SRPMs to build the PowerPC version, I'd be happy to send you a link to the private server. I can't build PowerPC Firefox on a stock PS3 anymore - it takes too much system memory for the default PS3 configuration.

billb's been pretty busy lately. I imagine he'll chime in here shortly as to the status of ps3bodega, YDL Firefox builds, etc. :D

Cheers,
Paul

The repo and site is down simply because I haven't paid the annual hosting fees. Should be back up by Monday -- maybe sooner.

If you need to use yum in the meantime, just edit /etc/yum.repos.d/ps3bodega.repo and change it to disabled.

Aaaaand - Firefox ESR 10.0.11 is out. :)

So - no need to build this one. I'll post a separate thread when I get the SRPMs setup. :)
