Anyone managed to run YDL on a G4 Cube with a Geforce 2MX?

I only have ibooks; but YDL should support it; the only thing i can think of off hand is to make sure that X uses the nv drivers

K. I tried it.

1) With YDL3 it isn´t possible to install :-(
2) YDL4rc3 works fine but it isn´t usable right now. There is a lot to do till final release.
3) Debian "Sarge" (Testing snapshot) is working without any problems.
4) I reinstalled MacOSX :-)

YDL 4.0 on a cube

I've downloaded YDL 4.0 and I tried to install it on a Cube. It has not even been possible to really start installing it: it hangs on "/sbin/loader". I tried to burn again the CD, I tried various kernel parameters (like ide=nodma, apm=off, acpi=off, pci=noacpi, nopcmcia, noprobe, mem=384M, ... and it always hang at "/sbin/loader"). On Fedora discussion lists, people are talking most of the time about a memory management bug in /sbin/loader.

So, I wanted to replace my Mandrake 9.1 by a new YDL 4.0, and I can not even start installing YDL.....

g4 and ydl 4.0 issues

I agree that its not working, just hangs at /sbin/loader. I've tried different things and nthing is working. That is tragic since I did have ydl2.x working on my cube a while back. Whatever was changed in ydl should get fixed quickly, because it used to work.

I'm running the original g4 cube 450mhz, 832MB or RAM. Nothing souped up or off the wall config.

If it is a memory issue with the loader, I'd be curious as to why it's so focused on Cube systems only.

Yeah YDL 4 doesn't work on my cube. It's that sbin/loader hang that some have reported. I get the same think when I try Fedora Core 3 as well.

A question... what kind of monitors are people using when they try this?

Mine's a 15" Apple LCD with an ADC (connected to a GF2).
