scheduling sleep/wake, shutdown/startup

Architecture specific questions.

scheduling sleep/wake, shutdown/startup

Postby ejourno » 26 May 2006, 21:09

I'm thinking about installing YDL on a Lombard Powerbook g3. One really important feature/app that I'd like to have is a way to automate sleep/wake to occur on a schedule. I've used an OS X app for this (http://www.dssw.co.uk/powermanager/index.html) and liked it. Is there a way to do this with YDL? Scheduling the wake/startup is more important to me than scheduling sleep. Thanks.

sleep is easy, just a cron job. As for waking the system up I know that there is a way of doing it I just dont know what it is off-hand. If memory serves me right someone else has asked this question in the past.

<edit>just did a quick search of this forum, couldnt find anything about schedualed wakeup - going to search justlinux.com (another great forum) cause I know Ive seen that question somewhere</edit>

You can install YDL - just not the latest version. :)
