NetGear Wireless?

Postby m1cajah » 20 Sep 2004, 12:59

This may relate to the "wireless extreme" topic also in this forum.

Recently purchased the NetGear Wireless G 108Mbps setup for my other laptop (Winblows XP) and was hoping the PCMCIA wireless card would work with YDL 3.0.1. However, I can't even get YDL to recognize (a) that I have a PCMCIA slot or (b) that there is a card inserted in the slot.

Don't EVEN get me started on trying the USB version...if YDL has as much trouble with the USB wireless adapter as it does my thumbdrive and USB HP printer I won't try THAT again...

Has no issues connecting to the NetGear wireless router via ethernet connection though, so I know I can work that way...it just sucks being tied to a cord in the basement! LOL

Updated and Upgraded using apt-get last night, so I'm current.

Anyone know if the NetGear wireless equipment works? I can't find it listed anywhere...and I've been told it works fine in OS X (which I don't want to switch to...).

Other than this glitch (and the thumbdrive issue), install went great...not a single problem.

I'm using a G3 Powerbook (Firewire...I think it's a Pismo?).
