PB 3400 modem

Postby shuuhen » 25 Sep 2004, 06:20

I'm wondering if anyone knows how to get the modem working for a PB 3400. It uses a DECchip 21041 [Tulip Pass 3] (rev 33).

When I try to connect to the net (I'm stuck on dialup right now) KPPP just continues to say 'modem initializing…' After using 'depmod -a', 'modprobe tulip', then 'netconfig' I got the card to activate, but it still doesn't get past the 'modem initializing.'

I read somewhere that the tulip driver was broken. Some people suggested using the tulip_old driver, but I get a message saying the tulip_old module was not found.

Any help would be great.

in /lib/modules/kenerl-ver. is where all the modules are stored-seach around in there to see what modules your system has. if you cant find the module you need then you could try and compile your own kernel either choose 2.4.x if your running an older version of ydl or a 2.6.x kernel if your running ydl 4.0 rcx
Til our paths cross again

The the tulip_old driver wasn't there, so I guess I'll be compiling a new kernel soon.
