Trackpad also has a 3rd button function!!!

Postby mcoyle » 29 Nov 2004, 17:41

It took me awhile to figure it out, but the sides of my trackpad act like a 3rd button mouse click. Whenever my finger travels to either the left or right side of the trackpad, a menu pops up corresponding to the 3rd button.

Some people may think this is a cool feature, but it's driving me crazy and I can't find a way to turn it off.

I have disabled mouse-emulation, trackpad, and pmud, none of which seems to control this.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Michael

I have this same problem too.

Makes it unusable for me.

Anyone know how to remove the functionality?

I know it was a longshot, but there is a kernel config option:

CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_X=1024
CONFIG_INPUT_MOUSEDEV_SCREEN_Y=768

I changed the screen values to 1440x900 and made a new kernel. It DID NOT solve the problem.

What I'm curious to know is this: Is there ANYONE running YDL on a 17" Alum Powerbook and the trackpad does not have this problem?

Thanks,
Michael

Kernel problem....

Postby mcoyle » 11 Dec 2004, 20:06

This problem is not a congig file, but something in the kernel. Using this kernel from Owen solved the problem:

http://cvs.terraplex.com/~owen/kernel-2 ... .8.ppc.rpm

Plus now my ALSA sound works. See this post too:

Good Luck,
