Soundcard problems Ibook G3 700

Hi,
I installed the Yellow Dog 4.0 on my Ibook G3 700...
It seems to work perfect, but i can't use the integrated soundcard...Is there the necessity to use an appropiate driver for it?

No you dont need to dl/make an appropriate driver (the kernel has one) sound was/is extremely flacky on ydl 4 but it has been fixed 1. do you have all of the updates avalible and if this doesnt fix it 2. wait a week or 2 for additional updates to be released (the sound is fixed in 4.0.1 but the updates havent hit the public mirrors yet, just the enhanced ydl.net servers)

they'll be released on the public mirrors sometime mid-March (I think)

Almost bought 4.0.1 today...but then I realized all my previous waiting would have been in vain.
And wait...
I'll buy the next full release.
