My powerbook will not boot to the OSX install cd or restore cd. it will boot to the ydl install cd but now give me a kernal panic. I don't want ydl linux anymore! How do I get OSX running on the system again. I no longer have main linux partation of a swap partation.

Ok.....

I some how came across a WWDC Panther Disc and it booted. What's really strange is the retail cds didn't work, ibook, powermac, and restore cd and OSX cds would not boot. Not to metation OS9 cds. I almost had a 1K paper weight.

id keep an eye out for additional problems (cause its sounds more like a firmware/hardware issue then software) flakey flash of the eeprom or optical drive possibly
