PowerBook 17"

Architecture specific questions.

PowerBook 17"

Postby Stuart » 31 Aug 2004, 14:08

To whom it shall concern:

I have been told by several people at the DC Linux LUG that Linux is not yet ready for primetime on a PowerBook 17, and that it can not only run X but a display on a PowerBook 17" can be damaged by doing so.

Is this true?

Is there a version of Linux that runs on a PowerBook 17" (current model from Apple, I have not yet bought one)?

If so, what does NOT work with it? What are it's downsides?

Thanks,

And not to mention no accelerated video or 3D support.
