Missing username and password for Yellow Dog on IBook G4

Much as I appreciate Linux, I have been asked by a friend to install OSX - Tiger? on an iBook G4, which he bought used and currently has Yellow Dog installed.
He does not have the username or password.
I have attempted to see the Ibook from another Mac via Firewire by booting with T, but it fails to show up on the second Mac.

Advice please, on how to install OSX.

Thank you in anticipation

Charles Lucy

you shouldnt need a username and pw if your just going to over-write the install w/ OSX just pop the osx dvd in and when it asks about where to install select the hdd and use the use entire drive option. Now if you want access to YDL then just pop in the YDL install disk and go into rescue mode - from there you should be able to chroot into the system and change the pw
