try username "root" and when it asks for password type in the one you entered during the install. You dont create users anymore during install you have to do it after you get the system up

this is the cli, (command line interface) what install option did you put on your machine? Try typing "startx" and if it has an error/fails to start try typing "Xautoconfig" the startx again

there will be no login window w/o the X server. The X server is the gui for linxu. the cli is the underlying interface Also make sure that "Xautoconfig" is exactly like that as linux is a case-sensitive OS

well if your going to reinstall id suggest just starting w/ using the desktop install. Also as this progresses im thinking that in the end ill end up teaching you how to edit config files (which is good - but a little scary) on the same note howcome you use the install safe option? just use install (just let it sit - itll default to this after a little bit)

ill try.....
personnal desktop......
root as user ......
pasword as ******

ill come back with the result..

if i type just install or just press enter..
anachonda stops the installation...makes a error report and want s to restart..(about no monitor found and lots of bla bla...

this morning i did a install text + workstation type...
looks good for now.(the instalation).

ill come back and tell you if it still does the same thing at login! :?
