iMac rev A installation

Postby pirlouit00 » 01 Apr 2006, 07:37

I tried to install YD on an old imac rev A and it said I didn't have enough RAM. Is it a problem I can fix? If I really can't install YD on it, what other distro could I install on it?

thanks

2 things, 1. is the ram good (use a ramtest program) 2. that should be enough, though you may need to do the install text wise (install-safe)

What ram test program should I use? The problem is I get a flashing question mark at startup as if the HD was blank and do not have the installation disk... I don't know what happened to the computer, I just kind of found it. I found a program called memtest86 but could't find a bootable version for mac. I could just buy some new RAM but I want to be shure that this is the real problem before buying...
