new iMac G5 2 GHz, 20" and Linux?

it is possible to run the yellowdog linux 4.01 on this machine?
i become "kernel panic" when i tried to boot with "-g5" or other parameters.
saying: "ooops: Kernel access of bad area 11(#1)"
