Yellow Dog Linux

I have an old Mac G3 Red Desk Top computer with a totally useless mac operating system on it.
It is far to sexy not to be in use and I would love to put a suitable YDL system on it.
I have tried to put Ubuntu 6 on it with no luck.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Tom

I'd try YDL 5.0.2 -- download from one of the mirrors here: http://ydl.net/support/downloads/ (install guide is linked there, too)
